Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-04

Kelowna Trades Registry (the “Directory,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a brand operated by Loonglade Web Studio, the registered sole proprietorship of Jonathan Larose-Sabourin, based in British Columbia, Canada. Loonglade Web Studio is the service provider and contracting party for the Directory. By accessing or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

These Terms are the Directory’s product terms under the Loonglade Web Studio Terms of Use and Services, which apply to all Loonglade Web Studio products and services. Where these Terms conflict with those umbrella terms on a matter specific to the Directory, these Terms govern for the Directory.

1. Overview & Eligibility

The Directory provides a local platform for visitors to browse and search trades businesses in Kelowna, British Columbia, and for business owners to list, manage, and promote their business profiles. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or purchase a paid subscription.

2. User Accounts & Responsibilities

Visitors can browse, search, and view listings without an account. Business owners and administrators must sign in with a Google account. Signed-in users can also save listings to a private favorites list, visible only to them.

  • Security: You access your account through Google authentication; you are responsible for the security of your Google account.
  • Accountability: You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
  • Notification: Notify us immediately at hello@tradesregistry.ca if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. Business Listing Submissions & Content License

When submitting or editing a business listing (details, descriptions, hours, contact information, services & amenities, photos, special offers, and booking links):

  • Accuracy & rights: You confirm the information you provide is accurate and that you own or have the rights to publish the content you upload, including photos.
  • Content license: You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your submitted content on the Directory.
  • Review process: New listings sit in a “pending” state until an admin approves or rejects them. We may edit, reject, or remove any listing at our discretion.

4. Listing Claims & Ownership Verification

Ownership of a listing is verified in one of two ways:

  • Invitation link: the operator emails single-use invitation links to an address associated with the business. If you sign in with the same Google account email the invitation was sent to, ownership transfers to you automatically.
  • Manual review: you can request verification from a listing page or after an invitation match fails. The operator reviews the request and may contact you at the phone number published on the listing.
  • We may require additional proof of ownership and may revoke claimed status if a claim is fraudulent, disputed, or unauthorized.

Google Business Profile verification and sync are not currently offered while we await Google API access. If they become available, we will update these Terms before collecting any related Google permissions.

5. Subscriptions, Payments & Auto-Renewal

Who you are buying from: Paid subscriptions are sold by Loonglade Web Studio, the registered sole proprietorship of Jonathan Larose-Sabourin, based in British Columbia, Canada. Loonglade Web Studio is the seller and contracting party for every purchase and operates Kelowna Trades Registry. Subscription questions and requests can be sent to hello@tradesregistry.ca.

  • Free plan: basic listing with up to 3 photos.
  • Premium Monthly: $9.99 CAD per month — all free benefits, plus a verified badge, priority placement, featured rotation on the city hub, up to 10 photos, a Book online button on your listing, licensed & insured details, and up to 3 special offers.
  • Premium Yearly: $99.99 CAD per year — same benefits as monthly, billed yearly.

Special offers: Premium owners can publish up to three special offers, each a short label with an external link. Offers and booking links are owner-provided content: you are responsible for their accuracy and for the destinations they link to, and we may remove any offer at any time.

Taxes: Prices are in Canadian dollars and are the total amount charged at checkout.

Payment processing: Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details never touch our servers. We charge the payment method you provide in advance: on the date you subscribe, and then automatically on each renewal date at the price and billing frequency shown before you pay.

Agreement: Before you are sent to Stripe to pay, we show you the plan, price, currency, billing frequency, renewal terms, and cancellation and refund rules, and you must check a box confirming that you agree to these Terms. By starting a paid subscription you confirm that you agree to these Terms of Service.

Auto-renewal: Premium subscriptions renew automatically — monthly or yearly, matching the plan you chose — until you cancel. We keep charging your payment method on each renewal date until then. For yearly plans, we email you 30 to 60 days before each renewal date with the renewal date, your right to cancel at any time, and how to cancel, and we tell you that the plan renews if you do not respond.

Cancellation: You can cancel any time from the Account page in your dashboard, or by emailing us at hello@tradesregistry.ca. There is no cancellation fee. When you cancel, a confirmation page shows the exact date your Premium ends and what changes then: the listing keeps Premium until the end of the current paid period and returns to the Free plan afterwards. Nothing is deleted, and you can resume Premium any time before that date. On a yearly plan, you can instead choose to end Premium immediately and receive a refund of the unused days, as described under Yearly refunds below.

Monthly refunds: Monthly plans are not prorated — there is no partial refund of unused time. Your Premium runs to the end of the paid month and does not renew.

Yearly refunds: When you cancel a yearly plan you choose one of two options: keep Premium until the end of the paid year, with no further charges and no refund, or end Premium immediately and receive a refund of the unused days (unused days ÷ the number of days in your yearly term × the amount you paid). We issue the refund within 15 days of your request and stop future payments.

Free months: If we grant a listing free Premium months, it keeps Premium until the stated date. If a paid subscription is attached, billing resumes automatically after that date; otherwise the listing returns to the Free plan. The terms of any free-month or promotional offer are stated when the offer is made.

Copy of your subscription contract: After you subscribe, we email you a confirmation with the details of your subscription: the plan, price, currency, billing frequency, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms. You can ask for another copy of your contract at any time by emailing the address above.

Your statutory rights: Nothing in these Terms waives or limits any right you have under British Columbia consumer protection law. We provide the pre-purchase disclosures, renewal notices, cancellation rights, and refund options described above voluntarily to all owners, whether or not that law applies to a particular purchase.

Changes to your subscription: We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before we change the price or benefits of an active subscription; that notice explains the change and how to cancel. You may cancel at any time, and we will never reduce your cancellation or refund rights during a paid term.

6. Video Testimonials & Free Month

Owners with a claimed listing can submit a video testimonial from the dashboard. By submitting one, you confirm that you own the video or have permission to share it, and you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute the video, its poster image, and your written quote, together with your first name and business name, on the Directory and in its marketing. We may edit the displayed name and quote, and we may hide or remove a published testimonial at any time.

An accepted testimonial earns one free month of Premium per account, granted only after our review and acceptance. The free month has no cash value and is not transferable, and it is applied through the existing Premium grant process: it extends the trial on a subscription, or grants Premium locally until the stated date. Fraudulent, fake, or abusive submissions do not qualify, and we may reject them or revoke a month granted for them. You can ask us to remove your published testimonial at any time by emailing hello@tradesregistry.ca; removing a testimonial does not automatically cancel a free month already granted.

7. Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, harvest, or extract directory data with bots or scripts without written consent.
  • Submit fraudulent, false, misleading, defamatory, or unlawful listings, ratings, or claims.
  • Attempt to bypass authentication, breach security, or disrupt the service.
  • Upload material that infringes third-party intellectual property, privacy, or trademark rights.
  • Submit content containing hate speech, harassment, threats, or offensive language. Automated filters and manual review apply.

8. Reviews & Ratings

Registered users may submit one rating per business. Ratings are the independent opinions of users, not of the operator. You can edit or delete your review from your dashboard. We may remove ratings that violate these Terms or show signs of fraud.

Business owners may post one public reply per review on their own listing. Replies are the owner’s own words and do not represent the operator. We may remove replies that violate these Terms.

9. Third-Party Content & Google Disclaimer

Some listings were created from publicly available data, including public Google Maps data, business contact details, and public social media profiles.

  • This Directory is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google LLC or its subsidiaries.
  • Third-party listing data is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee its completeness or accuracy. Business owners are responsible for claiming and correcting their listings.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE DIRECTORY IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

Loonglade Web Studio (Jonathan Larose-Sabourin) SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE DIRECTORY.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Loonglade Web Studio (Jonathan Larose-Sabourin) from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your submitted content.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts, remove listings, or block access at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that breaches these Terms or harms the Directory.

You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard Account page. Deletion takes effect after a 30-day recovery window during which you can cancel by signing in and choosing “Cancel deletion”. If you have a Premium subscription, it is canceled immediately when you request deletion, and the cancellation and refund rules in Section 5 apply. For monthly plans, deletion ends Premium immediately rather than at the end of the paid month, with no refund for the unused time. You choose whether your listings are deleted or kept public as unclaimed businesses. When deletion completes, your ratings on other businesses remain but display as “Deleted account”. Records we must keep for tax, billing, or legal reasons are retained as described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates are posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will ask you to confirm your acceptance before you can keep using your owner tools. You can still sign out, manage or cancel a subscription, and delete your account without accepting the updated Terms. Where you confirm acceptance, we record the version and the date, and, where available, the IP address of the request.

Active subscriptions: changes that affect an active paid subscription follow Section 5: we give at least 30 days’ notice before changing the price or benefits, you may cancel at any time, and your cancellation and refund rights are never reduced during a paid term. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any right you have under British Columbia consumer protection law.
